Why Join WEDA?

WEDA is a statewide, non-profit organization. As Washington State’s only trade association laser-focused on economic development, WEDA is committed to recovering, retaining, recruiting and expanding jobs and re-investment in Washington State. WEDA members include economic development organizations, cities, counties, ports, tribes, businesses, education and community-based organizations that prioritize economic development.

For over 25 years WEDA has served communities across Washington State through advocacy, education and the progression of economic development. We are the Voice for Economic Development in the state of Washington. Our diverse nonpartisan association encompasses urban, rural and tribal perspectives and unites our membership under a common goal: Stimulate. Educate. Advocate. 

Simply put, you can find yourself in WEDA.

WEDA is ultimately about jobs, jobs, jobs, but jobs don’t just happen. In fact, retaining existing jobs and recruiting new jobs in Washington State requires the work of many. Creating an environment that encourages high quality job creation in Washington State requires a strong presence in state legislative and regulatory arenas. It requires an association that has economic development as its core mission — its very reason for existence. WEDA is that organization.

How Membership Works

Joining WEDA is easy! We’ve made the onboarding process quick and simple. Once your membership application has been approved, you’ll begin to receive communication and resources right away. 


WEDA hosts regular membership calls and training sessions. We will introduce you to our membership, where we hope you will take advantage of networking opportunities and other opportunities.
