2008 WEDA Conferences
WEDA serves it's membership via three events per year. Each of these
events offers an opportunity to network, gain timely insight into
current legislative affairs impacting economic development, and best
practices in economic development. WEDA's Annual Public Policy and
Legislative Affairs Conference (aka Winter Conference) is especially
devoted to the priorities for economic development for cities, counties,
the state, ADOs, ports, etc. Additionally this event includes
economic development training for public officials and then advanced
training for economic development practitioners. A reception with the
legislators is part of the agenda. Then, in both the spring and
the fall WEDA's conferences are primarily dedicated to best practices,
new initiatives, case studies, networking, etc. Both of these
events provide the practitioners, those interested in learning more
about economic development and policy makers with tools to sharpen their
effectiveness. Relative tours are included in these conferences to
enhance the experience.
